Gjay is built to know as little about you as possible. No accounts, no ads, no selling data.

What Gjay stores

• Rooms. The room code or custom name, whether it's free or paid, and when it was created.
• The latest GIF. For each room, only the most recent GIF sent: its link, the time, and the name the sender typed (if they typed one). Each new GIF replaces the last one. There is no history.
• That's it. We don't store search terms, phone numbers, contacts, or anything about who is in a room.

Free rooms are deleted automatically after 24 hours. Custom rooms are deleted after 30 days. Once a room is gone, its data is gone too.

What your browser keeps

When you buy a custom room, your browser saves the name you picked and a random code so you can reload the confirmation page without losing your room. This stays on your device. Gjay doesn't use tracking cookies.

Payments

Custom rooms and tips are handled by Stripe. Gjay never sees your card number. Stripe shares the basics with us (your email, the amount, and the room name you bought) so we can help if something goes wrong.

Visitor stats

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see things like how many people visit, which pages they use, and roughly which country and device type they're on. It's anonymous and cookie-free, and it can't identify you.

Services Gjay relies on

Like most websites, Gjay uses a few outside services. They may see your IP address when your browser connects to them:

• Vercel hosts the site.
• Upstash stores the room data described above.
• KLIPY provides GIF search, and your phone or TV loads GIFs directly from KLIPY. See klipy.com for their policies.
• Google Fonts serves the site's fonts, and cdnjs (Cloudflare) serves the QR code tool on the TV screen.

Kids

Gjay isn't designed for children under 13, and GIF search isn't filtered for younger audiences.

The short version: have fun, be decent, and know that Gjay is a small project run by one person.

Using Gjay

Gjay lets you open a room on a big screen and lets guests send GIFs to it from their phones. By using Gjay you agree to these terms. Gjay is made by Ronny Kerr; "we" and "us" here means him.

Free rooms

Free rooms get a random code and last 24 hours. Anyone with the link can send GIFs to the room.

Custom rooms

• A custom room costs $5 and lasts 30 days from purchase, then expires automatically.
• Names are first come, first served. We may reclaim a name that's offensive, impersonates someone, or infringes on someone else's rights.
• A room name is a link, not property. You're buying 30 days of use, not ownership of the name.

No refunds

All payments, including custom rooms and tips, are final and non-refundable. If something isn't working, email hello@gjay.app and we'll do our best to fix it.

GIFs and what you send

• GIFs come from KLIPY. We don't create or own them, and search results aren't filtered for every audience.
• You're responsible for what you send to a room. Don't use Gjay to harass anyone, break the law, or show things to people who didn't sign up for them.
• If you're the host, you're in charge of your screen. Anyone with your guest link can send GIFs, so share it with people you trust, especially around kids or at work.

No guarantees

Gjay is provided as is. We work hard to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or work on every TV and browser. We may change or end features, or Gjay itself, at any time.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything related to Gjay is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.

The legal bits

These terms are governed by the laws of California, USA. If we update them, we'll post the new version here and change the date at the top.
